Betsy in Hong Kong
Betsy was my Family’s Chow Chow. She was a world traveller, starting her life in rural Pennsylvania, moving to Rhode Island, Ft. Lauderdale, and Hong Kong before passing peacefully in Ocala Florida. To this day, I know she was the sweetest, most perfect dog ever created.
I had a photo of her laying on this floor saved from when we lived in Hong Kong, and after I heard of my parents decision to let her be at peace, I started painting this for my father, who was there with the Vet stroking her head, saying his final goodbyes.
I wish I could reach out and kiss those soft bear-like paws of hers.
Oil on canvas. 16 x 16”
