Pumpkin Carvings of the Past
For a few years now I've been carving pumpkins for Halloween and other fall events. My favorite subjects are pop-culture and politics.
One year I carved "The Scariest Couple in Hollwood": TomKat. They were all over the news at the time. Back when Arrested Development was the best show on TV, I had fun carving Tobias Fünke (David Cross).
Because Halloween is close to election season, I also like to carve policital figures. Last year I did Philadelphia's Mayor Michael Nutter during the primary season.
And for my friends George and Nico, who were having their wedding right around Halloween, I carved a pair of portraits for the reception.
This year, I will carve McCain and Obama. If it looks like there's a chance I can get on the tv circuit with these (there are things in the works), I might try to also carve Steven Colbert for his show. What an ego!
